Some wines with a turkey dinner:

2009 Evening Land Chardonnay – labeled a Bourgogne as the fruit is blended from Lafon in Macon, as well as Pouilly Fuisse and Meursault. Nice citrus nose, lots of flavour in the mouth with good concentration, medium long. Very decent.

2008 Henri Boillot Chassagne Montrachet ‘Les Embrazees’ – lime and wet sto9ne in this nose, full bodied and clean with citrus coming in on palate as well. Persistent finish, very, very nice. Had it with a cold poached salmon I had done, with a sour cream, lime, Dijon and honey sauce. Sublime pairing.

1994 Marquis de’Angerville Volnay Taillepieds – slightly funky fruit nose (mostly cherry) medium body, nice feel, a tad short in the finish but not bad.

1993 Dom. Trapet Gevrey Chambertin – this village wine from a better vintage actually spanked the premier cru wines. Some nice spice in the nose, medium body, slight sweetness on palate, and decent fruit, some remaining tannins, still in good shape and very enjoyable.

1994 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Les Vaucrains – while riper than the other 1994, this wine had more acidity, which made it seem fresher, and some remaining tannins. Pleasant medium long finish.

1988 Pierre Sparr Gewürztraminer Mambourg Vendages Tardives – the result of a cellar buy out, this wine was nearing the end of life, but was able to produce a varietally correct slightly spicy nose but otherwise lacked much typicity. Good acidity, not much RS, now costing along and needs drinking.
