Dinner at Champetre with Jocel. Although I brought a half bottle of Beaucastel for the couscous, a bottle of Champagne for the whole dinner was good enough for us.
Laurent-Perrier Brut Millesime 1996 - Medium gold color. Lightish weight. Very fresh. Lots of lemon rind but there's also some toastiness and a pronounced butterscotch on the nose and palate. I suppose a bit more age could make it more interesting, but it's pretty good right now. Maybe a bit tighter and less expressive than the last time I had this, also at Champetre, two years ago, but still very enjoyable.
