WTN: 2005 Emilio Moro Ribera del Duero, Spain

14.5 % abv. 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). Estate vineyards between 15 and 25 years old. 23 days maceration. 12 months in French and American oak barrels. No cold fermentation. Sweet and savory impressions at the same time. Luscious fruit, and sage or other herbs, with a hint of leather. Pretty well integrated now but could maybe plateau for two or three more years. I liked this.

I don't recall having tried the wine at an earlier age but it is drinking well now. That doesn't necessarily mean that it would be too tannic or too harsh closer to release. Try one and report back.
