2011 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux

Refreshing scent of lemon and white grapefruit. Precise and focused, elegant and light on its feet. Somehow introverted like a young ballerina who isn't sure yet of her talents.

Sauvignon Blanc vinified in barriques...

For so much money, you could have bought a CSH, you know!

Dear Fredrik, the barriques must have been sensational though
Money didn't matter, I was kindly invited to a free tasting by Château Margaux's sales director. Can't really complain

I agree - while I have tasted many adequate bottles of Pavillon Banc (and rouge) I have never had an exceptional one, nor one that couldn't be equalled for less money elsewhere.

Example - Pavillon Blanc at twice or more the price, or....Smith Haut Lafite, de Fieuzal etc. No contest.
