03 vs 05 Bassetti vyd ESJ syrah

by Bob Henrick » Thu Mar 07, 2013 6:23 pm

I have a few bottles of each of these wines, and haven't tried them yet, and was wondering if anyone here has a side by side experience with the two vintages. Would love to hear of a comparison. Steve? How about it?

Bob-my last side by side was in 2010. It is in the archives.

not side-by-side, Bob, but I have a sense of how they compare. The '03 is probably a bit closer to coming together than the '05, although the '05 definitely has it's charms if served with something on the fatty, maybe smoky side. They both have plenty of structure. The '05 has a little more flesh.
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...
