2006 Wittmann Westhofener Aulerde Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Rheinhessen (4/4/2013) A good dry Riesling, though not a great one. There's plenty of very ripe peach and citrus fruit, some solid underlying minerality and the acid balance is fine. I just do't get much in the way of length. It starts out very tasty, but drops off too quickly.
Talk less, smile more. Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for.
Yeah, tough vintage for botrytis. I assume that there was either a healthy dose of active charcoal pitched into the must before sedimentation or the must was filtered. Either way, you're going to lose a lot of flavor and aroma.
