2004 Pierre Morey Batard Montrachet?

by Andrew B » Mon Apr 08, 2013 5:17 pm

Apparently Pierre Morey made some kosher white Burg in 2004. Anyone have info on this? Not cheap, but grand cru.

I've never tasted a kosher Burgundy, red or white, worth drinking.

Although the price is above $200/bottle, the non kosher version is equivalently priced. This is not imported into the US

04 wasn't a great year for Beaune, right?

2004 was OK but certainly not great.

Bad for reds ok for whites. Problem with green-ness and underripe Pinot.

Anyway, I contacted the Domaine and this wine doesn't exist.

Actually, for my tastes, 2004 was an excellent year for white Burgundies, very classic and crisp. I've actually drunk quite a lot of reds as well, mainly because my; current Burgundy drinking circle bought quite a few, and the bottles they bought tend to be much better than the vintage's image, and they drink earlier than the norm, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I know a number of people here who are significantly downsizing their holdings of 2004 reds, I guess too early for some.
