2007 "Draconis" Lodi Syrah. A newish project now housed in the Clarksburg Sugar Mill. EXTREMELY meaty and bacony Syrah with a ton of massive, but balanced fruit. Quite tasty, but may be too heavy? Still, an impressive bottle fairly priced.

2012 Fields Family Winery Rose. Mostly Grenache, and utterly delicious with dry, strawberry scented character. Yum!

2010 Fields Family Syrah Lodi. Very elegant and balanced Syrah with lighter fruit, some nice savory notes, good acidity. Mike Dunne is right in the Sacramento Bee.

2009 Fields Family Napa Valley Merlot. Mostly Oak Knoll fruit, I understand. This is beginning to show very well now, with a delicious anise/licorice/cassis character showing in the fruit, very balanced with good acidity. Might be a wine to hold onto for bottle age!
