WTN: 2005 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon

by David M. Bueker » Tue May 07, 2013 10:14 am

Continuing to plow through my stash of 375 ml bottles. Tastes like Cabernet. Not overblown. Really nice with my burger.

Too bad this label is going away. :(

Is he just giving up on it in favor of his day job at Sequoia Grove?

While too young, the birthday bottle of 2009 S. G. Reserve was delicious Saturday night.

Don't know the backstory. Just know it's shutting down. Sad. I really like the wines.

I read somewhere that (1) the owners had some disagreement about the future direction and (2) the winemaker was too busy with other things.

Oh no, say it ain't so. However, if this means there will be boatloads of inventory dumped on the market for super low prices, I'm available.

No - they are selling the remaining wines in normal fashion, just not making more. I did hear that they sold off a vintage of juice in bulk.
