Domaine Tempier, Bandol, 'cuvee Speciale', 1998
Lovely nose of macerated plums and dark cherry compote, and tamed animale. This has a velvety mouthfeel, and feels like sitting next to a dying fire when the embers left, and although this is not a dying wine by any means, I'd probably want to drink it in the next 3-4 years. There is a nice polished rusticity to this beautiful wine. A/A-
