2009 Signorello Estate "East Hillside" Cabernet Sauvignon. The victim of a failing wine refrigerator, so Pierre will have to forgive us for drinking this cabernet so very, very young.

But anyway, it was delicious in a bold, brash, licorice-y Napa Cab way. Not elegant or even a bit green like a Corison or Clos Du Val, but quite tasty in its own way. I think this wine was NOT damaged by its unfortunate overnight in the cheap Chinese wine cooler! Signorello still remains a favorite.

Also: 2010 St. Supery Rutherford Cabernet. Built along similar lines as the Signorello...black fruit, licorice, definitely more an herbal core but some plum notes, too. Pretty fresh. Very young, but actually quite toothsome right now.
