Tried this last night w/ dinner:
1. Flux Calif RW (14.6%; 60% Grenache/20% Syrah/14% PS/6% Carignan) MarkHeroldWines/Napa 2008: Very dark color; strong blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/big fruit some toasty/oak/smokey/pungent slight peppery/spicy rather intense very attractive nose; bit tart rich/lush boysenberry/blackberry/Syrah slight minty/peppery/spicy structured light toasty/oak flavor w/ some smooth tannins; very long fairly tart strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry some light toasty/charred/oak fairly rich/structured slight peppery/spicy finish w/ some smooth tannins; quite an attractive Grenache at a fair price. $27.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Had this wine w/o knowing its composition. I assumed it was Cabernet-based but danged if I could find any Cabernet character. It spoke to me mostly of Syrah or an Alban-style Grenache. It spoke loudly of a very good Rhone blend, rather than just another NapaVlly Syrah made by a Cabernet producer. If this is LakeCnty and MendoCnty Grenache, I'm pretty impressed.
