Whats on the weekends wine agenda?

by Bob Parsons Alberta » Sat Jan 11, 2014 10:15 am

Here is a new arrival downtown and lucky to get a sample....2012 Hexamer Muddersheimer Altenberg Riesling Kabinett. One of my fave Nahe producers. Light yellow color some pear and mineral on the nose. Very tasty, ripe pear and the usual good lengthy finish. Not sure of the price but guess $26?

Was the Alberta wine scene always that kicking, or has it only been since the re-invigorated oil extraction business? From the list of things you can get there, it sounds like a miniature Manhattan!

Tonight I'm doing a small dinner party with a Northern Rhone theme. Haven't selected all my bottles yet, but a 2000 Jaboulet La Chapelle is one.

Hi Mark, basically I really only shop at this one store which has one of the best selections in Alberta. If I lived in Calgary, I could probably find that MetroVino will fulfill my needs :D .

But that's a heckuva "one store" for the latitude, Bob. You might have the best/furthest north wine store on the planet--literally.

I'm going to spend the evening moving apostrophes around the Internet.
