How do you hold your wine glass?

For serious wine geeks, this photo listicle is funny but more of a joke than practical advice. Still worth a look for chuckles, though!

The Way You Hold Your Glass Shows Your Class

In my opinion, No. 14, The Normal Human Being, is a good formal standard, although for casual dining I'll confess as a shameless practitioner of No. 10, the Loosey Goosey. How about you?

I am apparently a "normal human being". [sigh of relief]

At a formal tasting most of the time it is No 14. If I think the wine might benefit from some “warming up” I might go with No 11. Sometimes I might go with a much “gentler” No 12 (pinching the base with my pointer and thumb). Everyday drinking I use stemless wine tumbles, so I might find myself using No 9 for picking up the glass, but mostly No 10.

That was my thought as well. With all those extraneous examples in the article, they could have at least included this standard!
