Taupe-y hued, looks and tastes older than it is. Soft, cooked cherry fruit with a blueberry edge (but not the heft usually implied by blue fruit) and some cola lie underneath a layer of smoke. Problem is, flavor is all on the front end, and there's virtually no finish. You take that first sip and kind of wait for the next layer on the midpalate to kick in, and are surprised when it doesn't--it just stops somehow. I like and respect Adam Lee's winemaking talents a lot, but this was not a successful bottle.

That does not sound like a Siduri wine at all. Doesn't sound like a Keefer Pinot either. I would ask Adam about it. Low level cork taint?

David, I'm pretty sensitive to taint, and no, I'm sure there was none there. No herbal qualities at all that could be mistaken for same. Just curiously mature and short.

Ok. Still sounds like something went wrong with that bottle.

I agree that it does. But it wasn't TCA. More likely that it experienced some kind of heat-damage though it wasn't overtly cooked. Sure didn't look or taste like a three years young California pinot.
