WTN: 05 Bossard l'Ecu Granit

by Bill Buitenhuys » Tue Jul 01, 2014 12:32 pm

2005 Domaine de l'Ecu Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Expression de Granit This opened a bit flabby and dull but after two hours uncorked in the fridge it was a stunner. Not as delineated as in its youth but lots of fleshy stone fruit, minerality, freshness, and balance. The slight sweetness helped tame a fairly spicy chorizo frittata.

First a King Crimson reunion, then a Buitenhuys tasting note. Is the end of the world not far off???

I like the point your note makes--I tend to breathe my reds, but whites I tend to pop and pour. Those with some age on them deserve a little more time to wake up.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Not until you see Mjolnir make an appearance. Then it's time to duck and cover. :D

It's been a forgotten section of the cellar, Bob!
