How Are Organic Wine Labels Regulated in the U.S.?

Here is a good, and relevant, question. What happens if a wine label boasts the term, “ORGANIC,” or “CERTIFIED ORGANIC” but is neither organic nor certified as such? As organic products—including wines—become more popular among consumers, there is a greater risk of fraudulent use of the term “ORGANIC.”

If you're talking about US wines on sale in US then surely the use of the terms have to be approved by the TTB, as per the blog post.

In EU there is no such thing as an organic wine, only wines made from organically grown grapes.

What the current position is with the proposed trading agreement between US/EU/Others on accepting unchanged labels approved as legal by the producing country I don't know.
