On Th night the Huet with it's light touch of sweetness did a bit better, because the stuffed lobsters had a bit of spice. The Beaujolais came out after dinner as we were just sitting on deck enjoying the evening (host is one of those "first duty of a wine is to be red" guys, don't think I've ever been there that at least one red wasn't served).
On Saturday the Bize did great with steamed lobster (just did a little lemon, no butter).
Lou, I've certainly enjoyed Mt Eden and Mayacamas with lobster, and have a Ramey Hyde to try. But where did you find a balanced Varner?
Bob, I don't think there is any category of smoked seafood I don't like (if done well)
