D'oh! I ASSumed BBC meant video. Either way, I wish there was a transcript. I can read in five minutes what it takes 27 minutes to listen to, and you can't really multitask.

I agree with Robin,

however not only do I listen while doing other things, but download programmes onto a USB drive and listen to them in the car.

Here's another on Champagne that was interesting - yet it covered much of the same ground as I have been reading about in
Bursting Bubbles: A Secret History of Champagne and the Rise of the Great Growers by Robert Walters that I received for Christmas. As the author appeared on the programme I think maybe the book inspired the programme but it was good to hear people interviewed in the book.

And when the Krug man described the making of Krug and how it justified its price I wanted nothing more than a glass of Champagne that very minute while driving up the A1.

I feel like a lone voice in the wilderness sometimes. Ah well, never mind. Thanks very much for the link Peter, I'll give it a listen this weekend. Cheers!

But if you read the information, then you miss the inimitable Radio 4 sound effects of bottles being opened and footsteps in gravel. It's just not the same!
