TN for Weekend of December 15th, 2018

I was talked into purchasing several French wines and this weekend I opened the first of them; the Chateau Gazin Rocquencourt 2015. Overall the wine exudes elegance and restraint, with fresh red fruit that's just right, neither under-ripe nor overripe. The fruit is nicely complimented by forest floor flavors of leaf and fungi. It is surprisingly at 14% alcohol, but I felt no heat. The tannins are soft and well integrated. The absence of acid does give it a soft underbelly.

Best Regards,
Pinchas
