2010 Beringer Vineyards 'Quantum' Red Wine Napa Valley
A bottle in 2017 was noticeably "more red fruit than black" and "boring", but this bottle was all black in color and flavor with cocoa, violets, chocolate, blueberry and a squirt of cassis. Doesn't seem possible that the two bottles were the same wine, even two years apart. Drinks well now but has the deep core of fruit, acidity and tannins for cellaring thru 2025.

2001 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
My last bottle of 16 originally purchased. Bad cork--no seepage, but dry and impossible to remove in less than five pieces. But it was a sound wine nonetheless, and drank well over two hours.

You need a Durand.

We have one. Don't think Bob used it on the first try for this, though.

I rescued a couple of really bad corks with mine over the holidays.

Bob says he brought the Durand to the rescue here, as well.
