It was a forgotten cellar orphan:
1997 Château Cos d'Estournel St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
Exceeded expectations with great color and relatively full bodied appearance. Over two hours, luscious nose of cedar and graphite with only a hint of barnyard or green notes. On nose alone, one of the best wines I've had in a long time. On the palate rich black cherry, cassis, green tobacco and leather. Finish initially good but clipped short by the end of the bottle. Still in all, a great experience.
