WTN: Not Taylor, not Tom

But black. I guess it's a bird. This is from a new boutique BC winery:

2016 Black Swift Pinot Noir, Palo Solara Vineyard, East Kolowna Bench, BC
Only 2600 bottles made. Unlike any BC pinot noir I've ever had, but a lot like a lot of California pinots I know. In fact, blind, I'd have gone straight to the area around Santa Barbara-to-Santa Maria which usually show nearly identical flavors of raspberry, tomato, tomato leaf and thyme. Juicy and almost forward at first it seems a bit simple (filtered/polished modern), but it firms up and shows some tannins during the second glass without ever turning chewy. Overall quite delightful.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
