Back editing of TN to WTN

by Robin Garr » Wed Apr 26, 2006 10:34 am

We recognize that the search engine doesn't find the "TN" we have been using in our Tasting Note titles so we are suggesting that you use WTN (for Wine Tasting Note) in the title instead. (example - WTN: 2000 Ch. Whatever)

We would like to go back and edit all previous titles so that any TN's are changed to WTN's. Bill B has volunteered to go back through the WLDG archives here and make the changes on the titles of any TN's that we have posted already. I'll be granting him temporary editing authority for this task.

In a day or two we will start updating titles. We will NOT touch the content of the note, only the title. You are also welcome to go back and change your own titles to save us some time.

If you don't want the title changed in one or any of your posts, we certainly won't change it. All you have to do is post here that you don't want your titles changed.

FYI - Bill B serving as temporary moderator

by Robin Garr » Fri Apr 28, 2006 9:59 am

Just in case any of you see Bill B's name added to the list of "moderators" for this forum and wonder what's up with that, I've given him the powers on a temporary basis since he volunteered to help with the rejiggering of "TN" to "WTN" to make the database searches work.

I assume it goes without saying, but I'll repeat it anyway: Bill will NOT be tampering with the contents of any posts, will not move posts out of public view or manipulate them in any other way. Yada, yada, yada ...

Ok, it's all done..I think.
Many thanks to PaulB, David Lole, Jay Labrador, and Bill Spencer (I hope I didnt miss anyone) for saving me a bunch of time and editing their own titles.

Thanks for all the work, Bill. I can attest that identifying all the tasting notes is difficult tedious work.

Regards, Bob
