WTN: Wood flattens fruit

by David M. Bueker » Thu May 18, 2006 8:17 am

2000 Chateau Fombrauge (St. Emilion) - Overpowering pine and mint on the nose. Smelled like a mint julep made from Retsina. No fruit on the palate at all. Likely a faulty bottle, though the pine/mint notes are worrisome.

1995 Cuilleron St. Joseph l'Amerybelle - Meat and wood on the nose. On the palate it's all drying, astringent wood. No fruit left here.
Talk less, smile more. Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for.
