Jonata 2014 Ballard Canyon, Santa Ynez Valley White Wine, "La Flor de Jonata." 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Semillon, and 15.2% abv, which I didn't know when I bought two bottles (at a discount, luckily). At fridge temperature, this isn't bad, though it's far from our usual style: big, rich, grassy, and spicy, with moderate wood and a nearly unctuous mouthfeel. But as it warms up, it becomes hot and out of balance. Now I know what a certain reviewer means when he uses the word "powerful" twice in one review, so it's a useful calbriation exercise, I suppose; but the second bottle will either be taken to a party or go into punch or sangria.
cheers, Patchen
