But if you're using an obscure term, or trying to introduce/promote a new one, it helps to spell out the term, with the abbreviation in parentheses, the first time it appears in your tasting note. Then you can use the abbreviation freely after that. The purpose of a tasting note, after all, is to convey information about your experience drinking the wine.
