Re: WineLibraryTV Today: Oklahoma wines - Episode #490

FWIW, I called the winery manager for the one of these wines which Gary V. actually liked - Chapel Creek Cabernet Sauvingnon Meritage Reserve, and found out that the wines is not available anywhere but the tasting room, which is open Friday afternoons or by appointment. The same guy also runs the Sand Hill Vineyards, which selection Gary V. was not nearly so impressed by. So, I am going to El Reno Saturday afternoon to taste the Chapel Creek wines myself, and quite likely leave with a few bottles of something truly hard to get. :D

This episode, #499 "investing in wine," was my very least favorite of any I’ve watched by far, and I normally enjoy Gary a lot. Gary's guest was obnoxious, crass, full of himself in a most unendearing way, all about money, and nothing else. He seemed to be trying to out-do Gary, compete with his energy, emulate him, prove himself equal, or something without any of Gary's charm. He obviously knew nothing about wine, which is fine, but was not capable of shutting up enough to listen, learn, or to let Gary talk about the wines. I couldn’t finish the episode. Let’s hope #500 is better.

I was at show #500 this evening, invited to pour wine, at CRUSHPAD in SF. Quite the crowd, very boisterous, happening scene. Massively overstimulating for someone like me, but fun anyway. :D
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

I was there. I have to confess, I don't get what the attraction is. (I was there to pour wine and meet people) Gary introduced himself to me. I'd be surprised if he remembered he'd met me five minutes afterward. Crushpad was nice, and the people were nice.
