So the dissociation constant or as Alan once called it iso-electric point for acetic acid (Ka = 1.8 X 10-5 or Kpa = 4.7) plays no role in this?
Am I confusing salt formation and ester formation? It’s the ____ate thing that is confusing me. Ethyl acet ate is not a salt form of acetic acid but an ester of acetic acid.
