Just back from my Oregon/Willamette trip and wanted to thank everyone who provided their thoughts.
The reco on The Horseradish Cafe in Carlton was spot-on for lunch. We had the place to ourselves on a Thurday afternoon and got to chat with Sabra for a time.\
We missed Nick's in McMinnville but had a super lunch at the Red Fox Bakery just around the corner. The breads were extraordinary and the ecclectic lunch menu was fabulous. A must stop IMO.
Linda L. (occasional poster here) at Stone Wolf in McMinnville treated us like royalty. Drank waaay too much wine and it was fun drinking through the barrels and library selections. NJ particularly liked spitting in the winery "sink" which actually was a large drain in the floor.
Winery discovery was Aramenta on Ribbon Ridge. Small production (1,000cs.) family run operation. Even their 2006's tend toward the elegant.
I'll try to post more when I recover, but wanted to thank everyone who took the time to respond to my plea for help.
Bill
