What glasses do you reccomend from this list? Do you have any experience with any of them?

Tom,
I am rather partial to the standard 8oz INAO glass for my everyday at home wine glass. I do usually go with larger glasses for special dinner or when we have someone over. IIRC it was the Wine Advocate number 62where Parker touted the stems produced by a place called St. George Crystal in Jeannette Pa. I still have between 2-3 dozen of the INAO and 1-2 dozen of the larger 16oz Bdx style glasses. Also I have about a dozen each of the white and the burgundy glasses. I think I might have spent $50 over the years on stems. The problem is though that the St. George company stopped producing wine stems some years ago.

To answer your question as to which I would recommend, I would first go for the Durand INAO glasses and go ahead and get 3 dozen of them which would cost you $81 plus shipping. (unless the shipping is exorbitant ) In looking at other prices on the Lumm web page I would pass on them all. I suppose I would search the internet and see what price I could find on the Spieglau stems

I vote for the Schott Zweisel glasses.

We hardly used our Riedels and Spiegelaus since we've purchased a bunch of Schott Zweisel glasses. The Zweisel are sturdier, can withstand a lot more knocking about, are nice looking and cheaper than the lowest Speigelau prices that I got through those Amazon 1-day sale deals.

I consider Ramon the voice of reason here (since he agrees with me).
I have various Riedels and Spiegelau, as well as a few of the gorgeous (but very expensive) Zalto Denk'Art glasses. But the SZ are the ones I use the most (and they are great for taking to offlines!).
I edited my earlier post, it's Crate and Barrel that carries the SZ titantium glasses sub rosa.

I prefer the Riedel stemless glasses. I break the stem version too often. Cannot remember the price of the stemless ones. The stemmed equivalent are $20 to $25 per glass.

David,

Could you possibly post a photo of this foam device? Failing that is it possible to have a name?

In the last few years, I've noticed that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find hand-washing implements [anywhere, at any store], and, just the other day, the reason for this popped into my head: No one washes by hand anymore.

Everyone [who's anyone] uses the dishwasher nowadays.

you're proabably on to something there. i used to buy that implement at kmart but they don't carry them anymore. i believe i got the current ones at dollar general or some such place. however i don't really think that anyone washes good stemward in a dishwasher.
