What do I appreciate the most about wine? So many things, but I think its never ending complexity and variability make it one of the most continuously fascinating and intriguing gifts the world has to offer.

What is my wine weakness? Not having better palate memory for wines from specific regions of the world and keeping up with important changes in those areas, i.e. laziness.

My favorite wine color is the cherry red of Pinot Noir, but also the iridescence that can be found in the glass when swirling the last few drops of Argentina Malbec and getting the sunlight just right. Worth looking for if you haven't experienced it.

My favorite wine name is trockenbeerenauslese.

What wine descriptor is my greatest turn-on? Seductive.

What wine descriptor is my greatest turn-off? Flabby

What do you appreciate the most about wine?
The way it can be enhanced by proper pairing. But really what I live for are those rare moments when a wine elevates the dish
with which it is served.
What is your wine weakness?
Auslesen. Too delicious to pass up, too sweet to drink!
Your favorite color wine is...
A tie between the near clear of a young Mosel, or the is-it-red-or-is-it-rose of a pale pinot noir. Both show that color has
next to nothing to do with flavor and intensity.
Your favorite wine name is...
Minuty. Because that's what we drank on our honeymoon in the south of France.
What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-on?
Floral
What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-off?
Killer

What do you appreciate the most about wine?
Wine was never on the radar for me until my early 20s (grew up in a teetotaling household) and it took several years for me to have an epiphany. It blows my mind that something previously unknown to me would take hold of me and carry my on a wild ride all over the world and in the company of so many wonderful people, and ultimately become a career for me. Why can't you major in wine in college? I could have figured it out way sooner!

What is your wine weakness?
Not having the budget I want for the wine collection I want. Luckily, I get to taste a lot of great wines in my job. Also, impulse buying.

Your favorite color wine is…
All of them! But love the coppery hues of aged whites.

Your favorite wine name is…
Blue Nun

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-on?
Elegant, balanced

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-off?
Varietal, when used as a noun

Where's that "like" button.

Lots of great responses so far. I am going to update this to remain a sticky for a while longer, and part two will go up on Monday or Tuesday.

What do you appreciate the most about wine?
The intellectual capacity of learning about wine is great, as is the friendships and fun and excitement of visiting wine regions to really throw yourself into learning about wine.

What is your wine weakness?
A common answer - wanting to buy too much!

Your favorite color wine is…
Aged red or white wine colour is most appealing to me, especially the deep gold of an aged riesling or chenin; roses can also be very visually appealing.

Your favorite wine name is…
Names are irrelevant to me.

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-on?
Complex

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-off?
Hedonistic

Part One:

What do you appreciate the most about wine?
Firstly, it is a sublime vehicle for facilitating discourse and human connection. Secondly, when properly paired with food the result can oft be an organoleptic symphony that plays all over the palate.

What is your wine weakness?
My 'sweet tooth' has a very hard time resisting finishing a meal with a sweet ferment of some sort.

Your favorite color wine is…
Any exhibiting a melange of the brick red hues common to classic elder Italian beauties.

Your favorite wine name is…
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Regal and even sensual when said slowly.

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-on?
"length-in-the-mouth". Fine wines with good structure and balance always have it.

What wine descriptor is your greatest turn-off?
"Jammy". To many it is a euphamism for overly-extracted new-world style wines.
