Howie, I missed this thread when it first appeared. I'm sorry to learn about your illness but heartened by your recovery. It's great news that your taste buds are coming back.

One of my favourites vignerons, René-Noël Legrand of Saumur-Champigny, told me on my last visit in 2008 that he had lost his sense of taste following chemo and I thought that it was reflected in his wines which had lost some of their precision. I believe that he is still going strong and his daughter has taken over the running of his business with his help, of course. Her entry level cuvées in 2013 and 2014 were very good.

Best wishes for a complete and lasting recovery.

Thanks, and good to hear. Btw, in addition to her current issue (which will go away eventually, it's just hard to live with in the meantime), she has had rather constant and episodically debiliating pain leftover from a shingles attack several years ago. Most shingles victims don't get that, but a small percentage do and she's one of the unlucky ones. Pot might be an answer.

This weekend I plan to drink one of your wines in celebration of your restored health, Howie! Kick ass and we will see you at MoCool 2017.
