So just today. I saw the FedEx truck pull up, so went to the door. The guy was carrying a door tag, no box. He was quite startled when I opened the door. Almost stuck the door tag to my face.

I sent him back for the box.

Today I'm going to pay a visit to the Manager of the airport facility. They need to meet more disgruntled customers--if they had to stare more of us down they'd be more careful.

I hope you reported that to the Fedex head office and told them that you intended to tell the winery concerned that they should change their delivery system and why. Deplorable practice! And do tell the winery and suggest that they change their delivery method if they want to retain your business (and that of all your wine friends).

I have dealt with FedEx more than I care to over the years due to my job. They are indifferent to losing multi-million dollar shipments, so guess how much they care about a six bottle box of wine.

You're right, David. The only complaint worth bothering with is local.

David, some info for you. Today at the Airport office where I went to complain "for my own sake, to help make sure this doesn't happen to me again", I was met by a very sympathetic desk person and, eventually, the facility manager. They were legit horrified that this happened as there was no excuse for it--and they put a thing in my file on their system that will cause an annoying voice to inform the driver, any driver be it Ground or Air, to be sure to ring the doorbell. I think it's meant as an aid for deaf people and such, which I definitely am not, but I'll take it!

Ringing the doorbell to help deaf people?

There must be some visual signal I am not familiar with.

LOL! I put that badly. I meant hard-of-hearing. Which isn't me either, but I hear a doorbell from anywhere in the house where a knock--maybe not.

I can attest to Jenise's excellent hearing. I can say softly "Would you like a glass of wine?" several rooms away and she always hears it!
