...except when it's Cotes de Provence, an ambiguity that has caught me before, which led indirectly to the excellent list that Dale compiled and linked to in this thread. Other people use CNdP or even C9dP when referring to Chateauneuf, perhaps to avoid just such an ambiguity.

Randy provides the best advice. I would add that if you type a TLA such as DRC into Google, you add a related context word along side, such as "DRC wine", otherwise you will be trying to swallow Dynamics Research Corporation. :)
