My first sparkling Vouvray and, I must confess, this wine didn't make it easy for me to like it.

Medium yellow-gold.

Good mousse.

At first, the wine was quite delicate, light-bodied, without much to it. With time, it began to gain more in body, texture and flavours, with hints of orange and lemon, honey, good cleansing acidity and a citrus bitterness that, with additional time, started to remind me of drinking tonic water.

A peppery, tart finish.

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).

Not really sure what to make of the wine. It did improve with time, but never really developed into much of anything. An interesting experiment.
