Live wedding update!

by JoePerry » Sat Aug 18, 2007 8:34 pm

Everyone is having a good time, the 1992 Bolly VVF was awesome. The 1985 Cuvee Charlie was excellent too. A mag of 1990 Prum went down well.

Later, 1995 Leroy Clos de Vougeot would change anyone's mind about Leroy (and Vougeot for that matter). A good 1999 Marcoux VV, 1997 Vietti Villero Riserva and 1990 Seghisio (sp) worked well with dinner. We've got Yquem and Foreau in queue next.

Wish you were here,
Joe & Amy

The man slips away from his reception to post notes for his wine geeky pals..of course, Amy recognizes this as the harbinger of life with Joe! Sounds like you found the perfect mate, Joe.

All the best! Cheers!

Joe is seriously underselling the occasion. It was the best offline I have ever attended. Great ceremony (a bit too windy for candles) & a reception that will rival any offline I ever attend for the rest of my life.

The bride was stunning. The groom was stunned.

Wines were going around at a pace to rival King Fung, with many amazing bottles (several courtesy of Joe himself). The Bollinger VVF and the mag of Krug NV were both out of this world. The '95 Leroy Clos Vougeot was otherworldly. The d'Yquem was...well...d'Yquem! There's no way to list all of the outstanding bottles (by the way...The Shadow was flowing for free!!! Great stuff, even in this auspicious company.)

Lots more stuff, including mags of Prum & Donnhoff, and a bottle of Finca Sandoval brought specifically to make the groom retch.

Tons of fun celebrating with Amy & Joe as well as the whole Boston geek crowd.

Thanks Joe & Amy for inviting us to take part in your special day.

I figured it would give me a sizable lead for WIWPie this year.

It does help when the reception is in the building where you work. We even had a mid-reception Ping Pong tourney downstairs.

It was the perfect day. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Thanks to those who could make it, and those who wish us well.

Now we are off to the Piedmont!

Best,
Joe

Yup, an incredible night for sure. Just watching Amy and Joe throughout the night was enough to make you smile.
The ceremony was beautiful at the ocean flower garden.
Amy and her bridesmaids were lovely.
Joe and the boys dress up rather nicely.

The reception hall and table decorations were a wonderfully whimsical reflection of both of them.

The food was great. The wines were one better than the next. Lill and I were so grateful to be part of their day.

And I suck at pingpong.

Joe, I've just finally gotten the 28th can tied to the AirItalia plane. Sure hope I've got the right flight -- getting past Security was something of a bitch.

Regards, and Happy, Happy ....
