WTN: '03 Glenora Vintners Selection Finger Lakes Riesling

2003 Glenora, Vintner’s Selection, Finger Lakes, Riesling ($20 U.S.). We had been hanging on to this one for a couple of years and the wait was worth it. It was the best Riesling we have had in a long time. The aroma contained a wisp of petrol along with a ton or so of fruit. Flavors upfront and in the middle included pear, apple, almond, and much else in the complexity. The finish went on and on. The folks at Glenora don’t make this one every year, but when they do, grab it!

I haven't had a Glenora wine in a few years, and I don't know why. I've enjoyed the ones I have had. The first Glenora I recall having was a McGregor Vineyard (now their own winery since 1980) Riesling from the late '70s. It was truly an eye-opener. Glenora also does a nice job with Vignoles.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
