I bought this thanks to a bizarre accident - I'd read about Vouvray somewhere and on the next day, misidentified the wine on a website and read an article about Viognier instead and was curious about the flavour.

I still struggle to pick definitive aromas off white wine. Smoke here, definitely but other than that I'm going to have to settle for generic descriptors like pale fruit and blossom.
Flavour on the palette is a little easier though. Apple, peach and that most elusive of wine flavours - grape - all come through in the initial mouthful. The wine is full bodied with a slightly creamy texture and seems extremely well balanced to my palate, although I like my white on the acid side.
The flavour reminds me a little of Chablis, without the mineral quality.

Am I the only person who finds it harder to pick smells off white wine than read?
