NV Jaillance Cuvee de l'Abbaye Brut Cremant de Bordeaux ($14, 12.0% ABV): Here is a French bubbly that won't break the bank. It comes from one of France's largest sparkling wine producers outside of the Champagne region, and is made from 100% Semillon. It is a somewhat pale yellow, and has that unique Semillon aroma and taste. The wine is crisp and tasty, with good acidity and finish. I found it to be a very pleasant and interesting alternative to higher priced Champagne. I bought 1/2 of this, emptying the shelf at a Tacoma wine shop.
