A very nice surprise. It may be simple and not very profound, but sometimes simple and enjoyable is perfectly ok. Nice fruity nose. Bright reddish purple in color. Delicious flavors of black cherry, currant, and raspberry. There is just a tiny little whiff of vanilla oak way way in the background but by no means dominant in any way. Some prominent tannins, and very nice acidity. Also, some herbal/savory notes under the fruit. I've had very little Spanish wine. This is one I will buy! 15 points/20

My new scoring system,

20=wine of the decade
19 Outstanding, amazing stuff!
17-18 Excellent-worth a special trip.
16-15 Very Good
14 Good
13 Fair but OK with food or as a simple quaffer
12 Mediocre with no real positives
11 Poor but drinkable
10 and below-would I even cook with this?
