The Sonoma County Winegrape Commission is selling 10 to 12 year old bonsai plants that actually grow fruit. $50 and the proceeds go to help grapevine workers in the County.
Available here.
They will ship anywhere in the US; apparently the wholesalers haven't plugged this shipping loophole.

A cool Idea indeed. The bonsai in the picture is a little on the 'fugly' side though.
