For some reason we have received many "over-sized" Nordic brews recently. Today's Danish one is perhaps the best of the ones I've so far had:

Nørrebro North Bridge Extreme Imperial India Pale Ale 9,5% abv; 9,78€/600ml; 100EBU

Dark copper/red. A sweetly malty nose but with a very lovable medicinal/bitter/herbal hoppiness. Big palate but light on its feet, the alcohol doesn't show at all and the hops are very refreshing. It has enough malt-character to be perfectly harmonious. Nice stuff; horrible price.

Meantime Coffee Beer

This was a very nice drop also! Very dark and roasted in its aromas - there isn't just a hint of coffee as with some other beers, but a full-on scent. The palate is weighty (yet "only" 6%abv) and roasted but with good freshness from hops. The overall impression is dry despite its weighty and malty elements. Apparently the coffee in one bottle is equivalent to one cup of actual coffee.

One of the great drinks coming out of France is Thiriez Étoile du Nord Bière Blonde Houblonnée.

At 5,5% this manages to be fairly light and very refreshing and crisp. It has wonderfully complex aromatics of funk (is that a touch of Brettanomyces Bruxellensis?), earth and grassy hops. Crisp, dry, palate-cleansing. IMO one of the great beers of the world.

I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
