An honest to goodness area of the garage, walled off, insulated, and turned into a proper cellar.

My wife's blessing to cut down more trees so that I can plant more vines.

After a single guest broke 3 Riedel glasses in a single night: a set of Tritan glasses for use at parties. :P

A new wine press.

Mark,
How about a nice big sleeve of 16 oz. plastic beer cups for this "special" guest? I suspect there is an ample supply of these in Laugh-a-lot.

Oh come on David! Even small children ask for less unlikely presents

Yes - and indeed more self-control in 'stumbling' across wine shops (not that one prepares on visiting a new town/city  8) )

Mine is really farfetched:
A house with room to store wine and build a wine cellar. The one bedroom apartment isn't exactly wine aging friendly. :D

My gift would be for a 1990 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon or a 1990 Groth Cabernet Sauvignon.

A 1988 French Bordeaux Gran Cru would be just fine, too.

I'm easy :D

My sister's birthday gift to me was the money to buy a nice decanter.
I would like for the holidays to stumble upon a sudden source of reasonably priced, well stored 1990, 2002 and 2005 red Burgundies.

I recently stumbled along a wine sale for burgundies and there was a case of 1990 Rossignol-Trapet Beaune Teurons 1990......$40 a bottle. Not sure if they are any good but picked up the whole lot.

Michael K,
Congrats on your find. I hope the Beaune Teurons are delightful. Report back when you open one.

I have one Eurocave but my wine collection has outgrown its capacity by about double.

Ditto that, but in lieu I'll accept a 260 bottle capacity Eurocave.

Yeah, sure Dan! Then the next thing you'll want is a pulley system to lift the carboys. 8)

As Howie knows, my handy son-in-law Fred rigged up said pulley system a few years ago. It's great. No more carrying carboys up and down the stairs, and running the risk of dropping them.

Fred will be here again in a few days for Thanksgiving. Maybe I can interest him in a little plumbing job.
