Marquis de Riscal 2000 Gran Reserva

I see the subject wine for sale locally for $37 and would like some input. So, if you know the wine in question please share your information. I have had the 2000 Reserva and was not greatly impressed with the vintage, and wonder if the extra time in barrel made a difference. Thanks in advance.

BobH, the `01 Reserva was a step up in quality. Think I posted here, have not seen a Riscal GR for years in these parts. Joe Perry would have some info eh.

Bob, I have enjoyed the 2001 and the 2002 equally, and have now seen but not purchased the 2003. However I was not fond of the 2000, so that is the why for the question. Yes, I am hoping for a response from Joe P.

Well, maybe not that suprised in today's market.

Microclimate might have given them better conditions, but I would pass on this. Riscal has been moving steadily back up to quality wines lately, though.
