WTN: 2005 Faiveley Mercurey La Framboisière

2005 Faiveley Mercurey La Framboisière - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey (12/18/2007)
Bright cherry red color. Tart cherry and earth aromatics. Initially this seems quite tart on the palate, but after 30 minutes of air it fleshes out nicely and gains depth. Not a blockbuster, but very well balanced with fruit, acidity and an appealing mineral character. Good length. Seems rather tightly wound at present, and there's plenty of fruit, so it should do well with a few years of cellar time. (88 pts.)

Useful for CellarTracker to ad my voice to the collective average. Because I had not been scoring wines my input was not counted & some wines were scored rather too high or too low for my taste.

Thanks for notes. The Faiveley Mercureys are usually good values. I usually buy the Clos des Myglands, but it's close to $40 in '05!
