Somehow, this just doesn't seem right

While perusing a home winemaking forum, I found the following link:
Thistle Meadow Winery.
This commercial winery makes all their wine from kit-concentrates they have shipped in from all around the world. Perhaps there's nothing wrong with that, but ....
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Howie, I doubt I would buy from this winery even if it were available. I wonder what their prices are like...high I expect.

Hmmm, nor does it seem right to me, Howie. Count me as one who would never use a concentrate to make my homemade wine. Why do that when working with grapes is so much more fun? Labour-intensive and painstaking, sure, but so utterly satisfying...

Interesting.....

Many wineries ship in grapes or juice from further afield. How far is too far? If the juice is concentrated then that saves on transport, they might claim*

Personally, I would avoid. And then again, I don't like wines shipped in bulk and bottled locally :)

*not to mention the mantra du jour carbon emissions
