TN: Rinaldi, Dolcetto d'Alba 2005, Piedmont, Italy
Uau, what a quaffer. Dark, cherries, raspberry, violets, beautiful acidity and light tannins. Excellent mouthfeel, not very complex, but i understand why dolcetto is a everyday drinking wine in Piedmont. If it's made good, this stuff is realy fun to drink. Wish I had more.
TN: Jim Barry ‘The Armagh’ Shiraz 1993, Australia
Suposed to be a top red from down under, probably not the cheapest bottle arround. Very dark, rich concentrated sweet nose, red fruit, blueberry. Big & balanced, sweet and round tannins, ripe acidity, pepper, spices, plum, raspbery, chocolate, coffee on the palate. Consistent aftertaste. The wine is peaking at the moment, but could be drunk in the next years also with no fear of declining. I'm sure this must be a 90+ RP wine, but it left me uninspired. A „great“ prosaic wine with no soul.
