I don't drink a lot of Sangiovese. But, last evening, along with a meal of braised goat meat in a tomato gravy, I opened a 2002 Pedroncelli Dry Creek Valley Sangiovese. I was pleasantly surprised by the floral, sandalwoody, eathy nose that greeted me. The acidity was very food friendly. This medium bodied wine still had enough red fruit and earthiness. We found ourelves unconsciously reaching for the bottle frequently, to add another splash to our glass. We liked it.
