This has been an increasing complaint of mine for years. I have some hearing loss and atmospheres like this are not "festive" or "energetic".... they are frustrating and impossible. We dine out frequently (read "spend a lot of money doing this") and never return to a noisy place, and tell the manager or owner why we won't be back. Everything else might have been great, but this is a deal breaker for me.

Our local Earls (you guys down south have Earls, don't you) is unpleasant just because it has such an acoustically live room. Can't hear yourself think. Of course I doubt many of the patrons are there to think (or for that matter capable of it).
